CESD - Depression Test
Depression is a common illness that can impact anyone, with one in five individuals experiencing it at some point in their lives. The symptoms of depression, such as persistent sadness and loss of interest, can be debilitating and increase the risk of suicidal thoughts. Despite this, diagnosis of depression is often delayed or overlooked. Fortunately, effective treatments like antidepressant medication and psychotherapy exist.
The CESD application discussed in this text offers a screening test comprised of 20 questions from a widely used depression evaluation scale. While this test does not provide a formal diagnosis, it can help individuals identify potential depression-related issues through self-assessment. The application also allows users to submit anonymous data to the server for research purposes, although this feature can be turned off in the settings.
