Elytra
Elytra is a privacy-focused RSS Feed reader that offers native text and image rendering, making it the first of its kind on iOS and macOS. With a fully customizable interface and ongoing development, Elytra requires an active subscription for use after a 14-day free trial.
One of its key features is privacy, as the app automatically sets up a private account without the need for passwords, and it does not collect any personal information. Elytra also removes tracking scripts and pixels from articles to ensure that your reading habits are always kept private.
Supporting modern feed formats such as XML and JSON, Elytra provides push notifications for real-time updates from your favorite blogs that support the WebSub protocol. For blogs that do not support push notifications, it offers near real-time updates through local notifications.
All your bookmarks are locally available for offline reading and reference. Elytra utilizes native features of iOS to render articles, allowing for inclusive features like Dynamic Type and Voice Over for Accessibility, while reducing the usage of tracking scripts. It also provides various image loading options to save mobile bandwidth and only load necessary images.
With cross-device sync using its API, Elytra allows you to access your feeds on iOS devices, Mac devices, and browsers. It is also the first RSS reader to support search within articles, giving you the ability to search for feeds, articles, and snippets within articles.
Elytra supports both Light and Dark themes and offers a range of Serif and Sans-Serif fonts, as well as the option to use custom fonts installed on your device. Additionally, it enables you to share direct sections of articles with others when the Article Author has linked headers with IDs, and provides mute filters to clean up your feeds from unwanted topics and noise.
Elytra also offers four unique widgets on all platforms, allowing you to bring your favorite feeds and updates to your home screen.
