Watch Duty is a wildfire mapping and alert app that offers real-time information vetted by trained professionals. Unlike other apps that rely solely on government alerts, Watch Duty is powered by active and retired firefighters, dispatchers, first responders, and reporters who monitor radio scanners in your area 24/7. This app provides push notifications about nearby wildfires, ongoing firefighting efforts, and updates as conditions change. It also offers features such as active fire perimeters, infrared satellite hotspots, wind speed and direction, evacuation orders, historical wildfire perimeters, street and satellite maps, and an air attack and air tanker flight tracker. Watch Duty is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides its services for free. However, becoming a member for $25/year grants access to special features and supports the organization.
