The Compass 55 app is an all-in-one assistant for navigation and exploring. It includes features such as a map, compass, GPS coordinates, altitude, distance, sunset/sunrise times, speedometer, and navigator. The app also has an advanced target/waypoint editor and can be used as a coordinates converter. Users can share their location via email, text message, Facebook, or Twitter. The app supports multiple coordinate formats and offers a speedometer with options to control average and max speed counters. The compass provides instant reaction and can be set to automatic mode based on magnetic or GPS course. It also calculates magnetic declination for the current location and any location on the map. The app includes various features in its basic version and offers additional capabilities with a PRO Pack upgrade. These include recording and sharing GPS tracks, moving waypoints between folders, showing ETA to a target, and a native Google map with terrain, 3D, and night mode. Users can also add their own tile map servers, download offline maps, import/export GPX and KML files, and use CSV import/export for waypoints. The app offers voice coaching, Siri shortcuts support, and background mode during tracking. It prioritizes user privacy and never shares location data with third parties or ad agencies unless users choose to share it. However, using GPS in the background may decrease battery life. Note that the app requires GPS and may not work properly on iPods and wifi-only iPads.
