The "Archiv für Kriminologie" is the oldest criminological journal in the world, with over 120 years of history. The journal publishes articles on various aspects of modern crime prevention, with a focus on the latest findings and practical considerations. The first issue of the journal, originally called "Archiv für Kriminal-Anthropologie und Kriminalistik," was published in September 1898. Since 1955, the journal has been managed by the publisher Schmidt-Römhild under the title "Archiv für Kriminologie unter bes, Berücksichtigung der gerichtlichen Physik, Chemie und Medizin." The journal is edited by Prof. Dr. med. Marcel A. Verhoff from the Institute of Legal Medicine in Frankfurt/M. It is published in A5 format with numerous color and black-and-white illustrations, and it appears six times a year.
