SmartCity Budapest Transport
SmartCity is a completely free, offline public transport information application designed for Budapest. The app features a vector-based map with address search functionality, a public transport route planner, and the full schedule of all public transport lines in Budapest. One of the key aspects of SmartCity is its ability to be used offline, allowing users to access all features without needing an internet connection.
Key features of SmartCity include a modern user interface based on years of experience with mobile public transport applications, an offline full timetable of all public transport lines including buses, metros, trams, trains, suburban trains, and night lines. The timetable data is based on the public official GTFS feeds of BKK (Centre for Budapest Transport). The app also features an offline map based on OpenStreetMap data, visualization of planned routes on the map with vehicle types and connections, and easy-to-use offline route planning from current position or selected location at any given time.
SmartCity also includes an offline address database for quick address search and reverse geocoding, the ability to visualize nearby lines based on current time and position, and automated route planning to favorite destinations without using network traffic. To use SmartCity, an iPhone 4S with iOS 8 is required, while an iPhone 6S or better is recommended for optimal performance.
