Colorado Trail Explorer
The Colorado Trail Explorer (COTREX) is a free platform offering a comprehensive trail map for the state of Colorado. Built on data from over 230 trail managers, COTREX allows users to view trails by allowed uses, browse featured routes, download offline maps, record trips and field notes, complete challenges to earn badges, and share experiences with the community.
Users can discover trails and featured routes that match their activities or interests, download offline maps for areas with no cell coverage, record trips and detailed field notes, complete challenges to earn badges, and share their experiences with the COTREX community. The project is led by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Department of Natural Resources in support of the Colorado the Beautiful Initiative.
COTREX aims to map every trail in Colorado and provide a seamless network of trails managed by various land managers. The platform serves as a gateway into Colorado's magnificent outdoors, connecting people, trails, and technology to promote the use of recreational trails. Users can contribute to the community by sharing trip reports, field notes, and trail conditions.
