ShutterSnitch
ShutterSnitch is a subscription-based app that allows users to wirelessly transfer images from various devices to their iPad. The app supports Eye-Fi, Transcend Wi-Fi, Toshiba FlashAir, PQI Air, and ez Share cards, as well as GoPro HERO and Fujifilm cameras with built-in Wi-Fi. It also supports PTP/IP enabled devices like Nikon and Canon cameras, and file transmitters that can upload to an FTP server.
Once the images are transferred, ShutterSnitch analyzes the metadata of the JPEG files and alerts users if any settings differ from their predefined rules. The app provides a large preview screen for browsing, zooming, and evaluating the images immediately after capture.
ShutterSnitch is particularly useful in studio environments as it allows for easy sharing of shoots with crew and models, reducing the need for multiple cards, adapters, and cables. The app also offers editing capabilities such as cropping, straightening, and color adjustments in the sRGB color space. All edits are non-destructive, allowing users to fine-tune or revert to the original photo.
Additional features of ShutterSnitch include advanced metadata editing with presets, a slideshow function with the Ken Burns effect, album organization, private album locking, resizing and watermarking of photos before sharing, large scale histograms, visible and audible warnings, map integration for automatic or manual geotagging, and the ability to add captions and bylines to photos.
ShutterSnitch supports multiple devices and can receive files from Eye-Fi cards, GoPro HERO, Transcend Wi-Fi, Toshiba FlashAir, PQI Air, and ez Share cards. It also supports PTP/IP importing from Nikon and Canon cameras, as well as receiving photos from Panasonic, Sony, Fujifilm, and certain Canon PowerShot cameras.
The app can be used as a regular image browser by transferring pictures from a computer through an FTP client. ShutterSnitch offers monthly and yearly subscription options priced at $2.99 and $29.99 respectively, with payments charged through the iTunes Account.
