The Health Weather app from the German Weather Service (DWD) provides information on the current warning and weather situation in relation to health influences for the healthcare sector, particularly affected individuals and risk groups, as well as the general public.
The app offers the following functions:
- Overview of health weather (hazard information and official warnings) for freely selectable locations in Germany:
- Official UV warning, UV index , and UV warning for children
- Official heat warnings and perceived temperature
- Pollen forecast for hazel, alder, ash, birch, sweet grass, rye, mugwort, and ragweed
- Weather sensitivity (weather-related complaints and symptoms) for general discomfort, asthma, cardiovascular complaints, and rheumatic complaints.
- Overview of national health weather according to:
- Spatial breakdown for thermal hazard index and UV hazard index
- Division of areas for pollen flight
- Division of hazard indices for weather-sensitive individuals
- Freely configurable warning elements and warning levels
- Configurable alert function (push notification) for weather conditions at freely selectable locations (map, GPS location, and postal code).
