OnStar Guardian: Safety App
Abstract:
The OnStar Guardian® app offers a range of family safety services including Roadside Assistance, help in a crash, family locator, and Emergency Services, accessible right on your phone. The app is available to eligible OnStar Members as part of their plan, or as a standalone option for $15 a month. With the ability to share the app with up to 7 friends or family members at no extra cost, users can stay connected and protected no matter where they are.
The app features Mobile Crash Response that automatically detects and alerts an OnStar Advisor in the event of a car accident, Roadside Assistance for help on the road with vehicle or motorcycle issues, Location Status to share real-time locations and receive notifications, and Emergency Services for priority access to assistance 24/7. Additionally, the OnStar Guardian skill for Amazon Alexa allows for Emergency Services to be accessed right from a home device.
Limitations include pricing subject to taxes and fees, availability in the U.S. and Canada only, and various requirements for service connectivity and functionality. Roadside services are provided by Signature Motor Club, Inc. and additional charges may apply for certain services. Up to seven individuals can be added to the “My Family” section in the app, and a select service plan is required for the OnStar Guardian skill with Amazon Alexa.
