UV radiation is a significant factor in various fields such as environmental research, health studies, and agriculture. Measuring UV intensity accurately is crucial for understanding its effects and taking appropriate preventive measures. This study presents the development and evaluation of a compact, low-cost beacon for measuring UV intensity in real-time. The beacon is designed to be portable and easily deployable in various settings. It utilizes a UV sensor, a microcontroller, and a wireless communication module to transmit real-time UV intensity data to a remote monitoring system. The beacon's performance was evaluated by comparing its measurements to those obtained from a well-established UV meter. Results showed a high level of correlation and accuracy, indicating the beacon's reliability. The beacon offers a cost-effective solution for monitoring UV intensity in different applications, enabling informed decision-making and promoting public health awareness.
