MapChick's Isla Mujeres is an offline app designed to prevent international roaming charges. The app allows users to download a database of information to their device, providing frequent updates without requiring a full app download. The free version includes a directory of nearly 300 hotels and rental properties, along with information about the island, Cancun airport, ferry service, using pesos, beach reads, and making phone calls. Users can upgrade to the paid version to unlock additional attractions and dining experiences, including restaurants, beaches, attractions, shopping, services, and transportation. Certain optional features, such as accessing restaurant menus and the peso converter, may require cellular data roaming or a WiFi connection. App updates from the database are also recommended to be done over WiFi.
