Operating in the Metro Phoenix area, including Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Scottsdale, users can easily request a ride and be transported without a human driver. The Waymo Driver prioritizes safety and aims to eliminate the stress of everyday driving. With millions of miles driven on the road and billions of miles simulated, the Waymo Driver ensures a safe and comfortable journey. Equipped with a suite of sensors including cameras, lidar, and radar, the Waymo Driver can see up to three football fields away in all directions, day and night. Passengers can relax in the backseat, catch up with friends, listen to music, or even take a nap. To book a ride, users can download the Waymo One app and enter their destination for Metro Phoenix, and Waymo will notify users in San Francisco when it is their turn to ride. Once the vehicle arrives, passengers can buckle up in the backseat and start the ride. The passenger screen displays what the Waymo Driver sees, ensuring a transparent and enjoyable trip.
