Stud Find - Metal Detector
Abstract: The Nail Detector app allows users to use their iPhone to locate nails in wooden support beams within walls or any other magnetic metal hidden from view. The app requires nails to be magnetic and the device to have a built-in magnetometer. It does not detect non-magnetic objects such as aluminum or wood studs. The performance of the app may be affected by wall construction, phone covers, or nail material. Users are instructed to calibrate the device's magnetic sensor, remove any external cases, and sweep the device along the wall edge according to iPhone model. Additionally, users can determine the location of their phone's Compass magnet to assist in locating nails in the stud. The app also offers localization credits in various languages.
