Essayist is an app that simplifies the academic writing process by allowing users to easily write essays in APA, MLA, Chicago, and Harvard Style formats. The app automatically formats everything from in-text citations and footnotes to references and page setup. It includes a universal reference manager where users can store and manage references, as well as add citations and footnotes with ease.
Essayist supports equations backed by LaTeX and four citation styles: APA, MLA, Chicago/Turabian, and Harvard. Users can export their work to PDF or Word, and the app offers a minimal interface to help eliminate distractions while writing. Additional features include the ability to add an abstract, appendices, table of contents, figures, and tables.
The app is regularly updated and offers a free trial that includes all features, as well as a subscription-based pricing model for continued use. Users can also download Essayist to review essays for free in read-only mode. Essayist is available for both iOS and macOS devices and offers various customization options for users.
