The Garmin Messenger™ app offers users the ability to stay connected with friends and family regardless of cellphone coverage areas. By pairing the app with a compatible inReach® satellite communicator, users can enjoy fast and easy direct messaging and interactive SOS features. The app supports group messaging as well as direct communication with individuals, and automatically switches between Internet, cellular, and satellite networks for optimal connectivity. Even when the inReach device is turned off, the app can still function when there is connectivity. Users are encouraged to invite their loved ones to download the app to maintain communication both on and off the trail. It is important to note that some jurisdictions regulate or prohibit the use of satellite communication devices, and users must adhere to all applicable laws.
