Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz and Severe Weather Team 2 have improved the accuracy of their local weather app, "The WSBTV Weather App." The app now includes a new Radar with 250-meter resolution and future radar to track storms. It also has added alert types, such as earthquakes and storm tracks. Push alerts for over 25 alert types are now free, including tornado warnings and winter storm warnings. The app features a scrollable home screen for easy access to information, locally crafted forecasts by WSB's experts, and the ability to save and name specific locations. The app is compatible with both tablets and smartphones. Additionally, the app is constantly updated with the latest storm and forecast information, provides live radar and location-based storm alerts, and offers current conditions and hourly and daily forecasts. It also includes interactive radar, satellite maps, and high-resolution satellite cloud imagery. The app is available for use in the United States only.
