Magic Earth is a Navigation app that allows users to find the best route to their destination without needing an internet connection. By utilizing OpenStreetMap data and a powerful search engine, the app offers optimal routes for driving, biking, hiking, and public transportation.
The app prioritizes user privacy, stating that they do not track, profile, trade, or store personal data. It offers offline maps powered by OpenStreetMap for 233 countries and regions, saving on mobile internet costs. Users can choose between 2D, 3D, and Satellite map views, and access details of routes like surface, difficulty, distance, and elevation profile. Points of interest and nearby parking places can also be easily identified.
Magic Earth includes an AI DashCam feature to improve driving safety and prevent accidents. Driver Assistance warnings provide alerts for potential road hazards, while Dash Cam functionality records trips for potential insurance claims. The app is compatible with Apple CarPlay for seamless integration in vehicles.
In terms of navigation, users can find the fastest or shortest route to their destination by car, bike, walking, or public transport. Multiple waypoints can be planned, and a Head-up Display (HUD) feature projects navigation info onto the car's windshield. Turn-by-turn navigation, lane assistance, speed camera alerts, and real-time traffic information are also available.
For public transport users, Magic Earth provides routes that combine various transportation modes, along with walking directions, transfer times, and cost information when available. Weather forecasts for favorite locations, current temperature, and upcoming weather conditions are also accessible through the app.
