Abstract:
Nihongo is an offline Japanese Dictionary , flashcard app, and reading assistant aimed at maximizing the efficiency of Japanese language study. The dictionary prioritizes commonly used words in search results and categorizes words as "common", "uncommon", or "rare". The "Clippings" feature allows users to paste Japanese text from various sources and automatically adds furigana or romaji to aid in reading comprehension. Flashcard decks are created based on search history and clippings, enabling users to study words in context. Kanji flashcards prompt users to draw missing characters, reinforcing real-world connections. The app also offers photo lookup using OCR technology, audio pronunciations, and a Safari extension for added convenience. Additionally, support for the JMDict and Tatoeba projects is encouraged.
