The Motive Driver App is a convenient tool for recording Hours of Service (HOS) on iOS devices. It is designed to comply with FMCSA regulations, including Part 395, and helps both fleets and individual commercial drivers meet their obligations under the ELD mandate. The app also supports Canadian Federal Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
By connecting to the Motive Vehicle Gateway device via Bluetooth, the Motive Driver App allows users to stay compliant through an electronic logging device (ELD). It proactively alerts drivers when they are running out of driving time to avoid Hours of Service (HOS) violations.
The app provides useful information such as the total hours worked for the week and the available Hours of Service for any given day and the following day. Additionally, it can be switched to Inspection Mode, allowing drivers to show ELD logs to an officer during a roadside inspection without compromising their privacy.
In terms of tracking and telematics, the app shares GPS location data to the Motive Fleet Dashboard when dispatched. This enables dispatchers and fleet managers to stay updated on stops and arrivals.
For driver safety, the Motive Driver App allows users to review Motive Dashcam videos and safety events in order to understand driving performance. It also provides a DRIVE risk score, which serves as a benchmark against Motive's entire network of vehicles.
The app offers features for dispatch and workflow management, including confirming and receiving assigned dispatches, viewing load details, managing tasks for active deliveries, reviewing past dispatches, and communicating directly with fleet managers or dispatchers.
In terms of maintenance, the app enables users to complete pre-trip and post-trip driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR), which helps in reporting and keeping track of any defects.
The Motive Driver App also supports sustainability efforts by allowing users to upload fuel receipts to generate fuel reports in the Motive Fleet Dashboard.
