Star Chart
Star Chart is an educational and augmented reality Astronomy app that is now available for free. With Star Chart, users can have a virtual star chart in their pocket and view the whole visible universe through the eyes of their iPhone or iPad. By pointing their AR enabled device at the sky, Star Chart will identify and provide information about stars, planets, and moons visible from Earth. The app uses state-of-the-art GPS technology and a 3D simulation to calculate the current location of celestial bodies in real time. Users can also explore other features such as viewing the night sky from different locations around the world, accessing constellations and deep sky objects, and utilizing the powerful zoom function. Star Chart is continually updated and feedback is welcomed.
