NFC Tap

The NFC Tap iOS App is a powerful tool that takes advantage of the NFC core feature of iOS 16 to enable the reading and writing of NFC tags on various iPhone models. Compatible with iPhone 7 to iPhone 13 devices, the app offers a new user experience based on the content of the tags. It provides a range of features, including support for STMicroelectronics ST25 Type5 and Type4A series tags, App Clip functionality, read/write capabilities for Type5 tags, and a user interface for managing ISO15693/NFC Type5 commands.

The app also supports custom commands for ISO15693/NFC Type5 tags, fast transfer mode using STMicroelectronics ST25DV-I2C and ST25DVC tags, and PWM control for STMicroelectronics ST25DV-PWM tags. Users can read and write different types of NDEF messages, such as URLs, text, SMS, email, calls, maps, vCard, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MIME, and external content. The app also supports universal links and a custom app URL scheme, allowing users to open the app from other iOS apps or the Safari browser.

The NFC Tap iOS App offers several functions based on the content of the NFC tags. Users can connect to Wi-Fi devices by tapping a tag with the SSID, key password, and encryption type. Bluetooth pairing with BLE devices is facilitated, allowing the phone to connect directly to the specified device after tapping a tag. The app can also open URLs in a browser, display and save contact information from business card tags, open Apple Maps to a stored GPS location, initiate SMS or email communications, make phone calls, and display text messages from tags. MIME and external NDEF examples are also supported.

In addition, the NFC Tap App includes Bluetooth pairing with a ST25DV discovery board. With its wide range of features and support for various NFC tags, the app enhances the usability and functionality of iPhone devices.
