FaceTime
FaceTime is a communication app that allows users to connect with family and friends through audio and video calls. In addition to standard calling features, FaceTime offers a range of functions to enhance the user experience. These include FaceTime Messages, which allow users to leave video or audio messages when a call goes unanswered. SharePlay enables synchronized playback of videos and music, while screen sharing allows users to bring their favorite apps into FaceTime. Collaboration features enable users to work on documents and presentations together during a call. FaceTime links can be shared with friends, even those without Apple devices, to join a call through a web link. Mic modes such as Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum enhance audio quality, while Portrait mode and Studio Light allow users to adjust their appearance. Reactions and gestures can be used to add screen effects and trigger reactions during a call. Users can create customized contact posters to represent themselves during FaceTime Audio calls. Spatial audio creates an immersive experience by simulating the direction of voices in the call. Grid view displays participants in equal-sized tiles and highlights the current speaker. Center Stage uses machine learning to keep participants in view during video calls. Video effects such as Animoji and stickers can be added during a call. Handoff allows seamless transfer of calls between devices, while Handoff to Apple TV enables FaceTime calls from the comfort of a living room couch. Group FaceTime calls can include up to 32 participants. Users can utilize front or back cameras during calls, and live captions are available in English (US, Canada) for transcribed dialogue. FaceTime offers flexible calling options using phone numbers or Apple IDs and works over Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
