TALL Embark-Language Learning
Embark is a Language learning app designed to assist missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, it is not limited to this group and can be utilized by anyone. The app offers over 60 different languages, with a vast amount of vocabulary, phrases, and more. Users can fine-tune their listening skills by practicing with native speakers, learn new sounds and symbols, and master the necessary vocabulary to construct their own sentences. The app also provides useful phrases to aid in immediate conversational abilities. One of the primary goals of Embark is to teach the language's structure effectively.
Missionaries are strongly encouraged to use Embark after receiving their call, during their time in the Missionary Training Center (MTC), and throughout their mission to learn both gospel and daily missionary language. In order to maximize the learning experience, users are advised to dedicate 15-60 minutes each day to practicing with the app, complete daily spaced reviews, record and compare their voices to those of native speakers to improve their speaking skills, apply their newfound knowledge in real conversations, and utilize creative thinking to personalize their learning journey.
