Music Theory Chords •

This abstract presents a test that aims to assess the knowledge of triads and seventh chords among teachers, students, and professional musicians. The test can be conducted by relying solely on auditory perception or by analyzing music notations. Participants can compare their answers to the correct ones to identify any mistakes. The test also provides a 'Grade Book' feature that records and organizes all saved results, allowing for printing or sending.

The test covers various aspects, including different types of triads (major, minor, diminished, and augmented) and seventh chords (dim7, min7(b5), min7, min(maj7), dominant7, maj7, dominant7(#5), and maj7(#5)). Participants can choose between three modes: Audio and Visual, Audio Only (Ear Training), and Visual Only (Clef Notation Training). They can also select different clefs, such as Treble, Alto, Tenor, and Bass clefs. Additionally, the test provides options for how the chords are played, including harmonically, randomly, rolled up, or rolled down. Participants can set a random root change or specify the root before each question. It is also possible to set the number of questions or stop anytime and grade only the answered ones.

The Grade Book feature allows filtering by name and provides comprehensive information about the quiz results. This includes the name of the participant, date and time of the test, relevant settings (such as clef and number of questions), and the score in terms of percentage and letter grade.
