Messages

This text provides an overview of the features of iMessage, a Messaging platform for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS devices. It allows users to send unlimited texts, photos, videos, documents, and more to contacts using their phone number or Apple ID. The Messages in iCloud feature keeps the entire message history updated and available across Apple devices, even when setting up a new device. Users can personalize group conversations by naming them and adding a photo. They can also share their name, photo, or Memoji with friends. The ability to edit messages within 15 minutes of sending and unsend messages within 2 minutes are also available. Other features include marking messages as unread, mentioning individuals in group conversations, using inline replies, and expressing quick replies with Tapback. Users can pin their favorite message threads, start Check Ins to notify others of their location, and utilize SharePlay to share synchronized activities while chatting. The Shared with You feature displays content sent by friends in Messages conversations in various apps. Collaboration allows inviting others to collaborate on files and receive activity updates within the thread. Additional features include collage or stack display for multiple photos, customization and sharing of personalized Memoji, integration of iMessage apps for sharing media, and camera effects for photos and videos. Apple Watch users can read and respond to messages, use various input methods, mute or delete conversations, save media from messages, and use Siri for messaging and Apple Pay for money transactions. Some features may not be available in all regions.
