Think, plan & create – Concepts is a flexible vector-based sketchbook that allows users to transform their ideas into reality. This innovative app offers a dynamic workspace for ideation, enabling users to iterate and explore their concepts, organize their thoughts, and experiment with designs. Concepts provides an infinite canvas, allowing users to sketch plans, make notes, doodles, and mindmaps, as well as draw storyboards, product sketches, and designs. With its vector-based system, every stroke is editable and scalable, and users can easily modify elements of their sketches without redrawing them using the Nudge, Slice, and Select tools.
Notably, Concepts is used by talented creators at renowned companies such as Disney, Playstation, Philips, HP, Apple, Google, Unity, and Illumination Entertainment to develop and realize extraordinary ideas. This versatile app offers a range of features and tools, including an infinite canvas with optional paper types and grids, realistic pens, pencils, and brushes that respond to pressure, tilt, and velocity, and a customizable tool wheel or bar. Additionally, Concepts provides HSL, RGB, and COPIC color wheels and supports editable vector-based sketching, enabling users to move, organize, and edit various aspects of their sketches, such as the tool, color, size, scale, smoothing, opacity, and even transform or nudge lines to shape them.
Users can take advantage of unlimited layers and scale and measurement tools that calculate real-world dimensions. Concepts also allows users to seamlessly drag and drop images and PDF files, create, store, and share vector Object libraries, and export images, vector SVG, and PDFs to scale for printing or efficient flow between apps. It supports direct sharing to email, text, Files, cloud, photos, or favorite social apps, and can be used for presentations with AirPlay or a second screen.
The app offers free features, such as an infinite canvas, a selection of paper and grid types, the full COPIC color spectrum, RGB and HSL color wheels, five layers, unlimited drawings, and JPG exports. Paid features include a subscription that provides access to 200+ brush and Object libraries, features, and services, as well as Team Sharing for smooth collaboration, including live sharing of object libraries, color palettes, and brushes. The subscription unlocks all features across platforms and offers a 7-day free trial. One-time purchases are also available, allowing users to buy the Essentials for life, unlocking selection and editing tools, infinite layers, shape guides, custom brushes, custom grids, and exports to PNG, PSD, and SVG formats. Advanced features, such as object packs, professional brushes, and PDF workflows, can be purchased separately but are limited to the platform on which they are purchased.
Concepts' Terms & Conditions state that monthly and yearly subscription payments are charged to the user's iTunes account at the time of purchase, and the plan will automatically renew at the end of the billing period unless canceled 24 hours prior. Users can manage their subscription and make changes in their iTunes Account settings. Unused portions of any free trial period will be forfeited if changes are made to the subscription. The Concepts team is dedicated to quality and frequently updates the app based on user feedback.
